As most of you probably don’t know photographs vary in many different ways. Between contrast, focal point, color adjusting or picking the right image can make or break your final outcome. Because the variability of photographs we want to guide you on the best way to choose and upload the image you want engraved onto wood. Here are some tips:

1) Upload Images at the Highest Resolution

To do this, I’m sure most of you are like, “How do I tell if it is High-Resolution or not”? Well here is a tip to checking your file size before you upload to our site. If you are a Mac user, simply find the image you want to upload and right click the image. Next click “Get Info”.  Typically you can tell right away by the file size. If your file size is lower than 800kb, it is most likely not high-resolution. Another thing you can check is the dimensions of the image. After right clicking and clicking on “Get Info”, there will be tabs that you can open/close. If you click on “More Info”, it will give you dimensions of the image. Anything over 2000 pixels x 2000pixels should be big enough.

If you are a windows user, you can simply do the same thing by right clicking on your image and clicking “Properties”. This will give you the size as well. Remember, if the file is lower than 800kb it is probably not big enough.
